Editing

Whilst I already knew I enjoyed editing in high school, I truly discovered my passion for it during my time in RMIT University’s Associate Degree in Professional Writing and Editing. Like many autistic people, I am a detail-oriented person and I love being able to peruse a page on the hunt for mistakes and inconsistencies.

For this reason, I’d say my greatest strength lies in proofreading. It is deeply satisfying to find typos and bad breaks, to make leading or tracking-related suggestions that lead to a better page layout and to consider how grammar changes meaning.

After graduating, I found work in Berlin as an editorial assistant at the small publishing house GITO. My responsibilities mostly lay with the scientific journal Industry 4.0 Science, where I mostly edited articles for the English editions, provided proofreading input on German editions and researched academic reviewers and authors for upcoming editions.
